Once upon a time, I was living in the City of Angels—Los Angeles, California. Endless traffic, overcrowded streets, and the nonstop pace slowly wore me down. That was when I started to feel an intuitive call from the Mayan jungle. For years, I had dreamed of riding a beach cruiser along the turquoise Caribbean coast and spending my days songwriting—living a truly bohemian artist’s life. ☽
In 2020, the world slowed down, and I saw an opportunity to make that dream a reality.
So, I sold almost all my possessions, packed a suitcase, my white Stratocaster guitar, and a compact music-production backpack, and bought a one-way ticket to the Mexican Caribbean. ☼
I was finally living a bohemian life—the life I had dreamed of. I traveled like a gypsy through the Yucatán Peninsula, Central and Southern Mexico, and even Colombia for a while. I spent my time songwriting and honing the craft of music production. I’ll be honest: I was terrified and insecure about self-producing, but the desire for the freedom ☽ it would give me ultimately overcame my fears.
What you’ll hear on this CD are those songs—each one a chapter in a story of fear faced, love found and lost, pain and sorrow, healing, joy, and countless smiles. ♒︎

Honestly, I’d ask the same thing. I’m doing this for a few reasons. First and foremost, I want more people to hear this music—and if that means giving it away, I’m willing to do that. Lord knows I’ve spent a lot of money on publicists and radio promoters, which ultimately did very little to help me reach more fans. I’d rather go directly to you than through the traditional music industry.
Secondly, if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that it doesn’t matter how good or bad the music is—if the marketing is strong, the artist will find success. ☼
I don’t have a giant record label, and I’ve never been particularly good at networking. Still, I know there are people out there who will resonate with these songs. I just have to find a way to reach them… ☽
This is part of my rebellious attempt to share some beautiful art in an often dark world.
If you cover $5 for shipping, I’ll send you my CD— I hope you'll join me for this magical and surreal mystery ride.
Tu amiga,
De'Anza

If you cover $5 for shipping, I’ll send you my CD—I designed the artwork myself, so this is a truly independent project. I’ll also include a handwritten, personalized letter. I hope you'll join me for this magical and surreal mystery ride.
